there plenty of room for improvement. but it still pretty OK
UPDATE: Reolink responded to my feedback and stated that this camera is only recommended to be installed. 6′ to 10′ high. So basically at porch light height and not floodlight height and not for anyone with existing floodlights on a 2 story house. Even though one of the pictures in the listing shows the camera up high. Now sure you can use it at porch light height but at 6′ this will be easy for someone to take or manipulate since they use basic phillips head screws and NO security screws or locks to mount. So 3 stars are warranted. I included images of what happens with privacy mask and non detect zones when out of view detection is activated and you use those features. Also camera does rotate 90° now.I want to give it 3 and a half stars but we can’t on Amazon. I installed it under my eaves 20′ in the air on a ladder and contrary to some of the other reviews it was pretty for me. I use wagos and not the weird terminal they have in the mounting bracket. The wires on the camera are too short but using wagos made it a non issue. the setup was easy in the app. I haven’t notices in lag in unifi protect outside the normal unifi issues. The video quality is not the best 4k image but it is a good picture. I found tracking to be smoother by changing it to PTZ tracking first and that made it 90%+ accurate with people tracking. I don’t track animals or cars. Camera was added to unifi protect using an AI port but it did not show up without it. be that could be just my setup. Now here are my issue and suggestions that would make this a 5 star rating if they were fixed but the reason for the 3 and a half stars. I also sent this to ReolinkA functional limitation with the TrackFlex WiFi Floodlight that appears to stem from how several features interact in the firmware. The issue involves the interaction between:• Out of View Detection• Privacy Mask• Non-Detection Zones• PTZ movementCurrently, Privacy Masks and Non-Detection Zones move with the PTZ position. While this behavior makes sense for a static camera, it creates a conflict for PTZ operation. When Out of View Detection triggers and the camera rotates, the masks and detection zones rotate with the image. This can result in important areas being blocked or excluded from detection after the camera moves. In practice, this makes Out of View Detection difficult to use because areas that should be monitored may end up inside a privacy mask or non-detection zone after the camera pans.Possible solutions that would significantly improve functionality:Privacy Masks and Non-Detection Zones remain fixed relative to the home position coordinate system, not the PTZ view.Alternatively, automatically disable masks and non-detection zones when the camera leaves the home position and re-enable them when the camera returns.I also noticed that Out of View Detection appears to rotate the camera only about 45° from center when the left or right PIR sensor is triggered. Ideally, the camera should rotate closer to 90° toward the triggered PIR zone so the viewing direction aligns with the detected motion or the configured Auto Tracking limits, which would give users control over how far the camera can rotate.Feature request:An ideal implementation would be preset-based configuration, allowing Privacy Masks and Non-Detection Zones to be defined independently for each PTZ preset. It would also be very useful if PTZ presets were exposed through the Home Assistant integration, allowing users to automate preset positions with schedules (for example, facing one direction during the day and another direction at night). Finally, my camera is mounted approximately 20 feet above ground, and the PIR sensors cannot be angled downward. Adjustable PIR sensor angles would greatly improve detection performance for elevated installations and may be worth considering for a future hardware revision. The camera has great potential, but these firmware and feature limitations reduce the effectiveness of the PTZ and Out of View Detection functionality. Addressing these interactions would make this an excellent product.

    Know before you buy
Updated review:There is no AI search functionality when the Trackflex floodlight cam is connected to the Hub Pro.I purchased both and after set up, found that there was basic search, but no AI search functionality. I reached out to Reolink Support and got the following response in return.“We regret to let you know that when the TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi is added to the Home Hub Pro, the camera will not support the AI video search as the Home Hub Pro does not support the AI video search feature.”It would’ve been nice to know this before purchase, but there is a workaround. By connecting the camera directly to the network rather than the hub, enhanced AI search functionality is retained. The caveat being the increased congestion on the network from each additional device.Despite my initial disappointment, the Reolink Support Team proved to be responsive and helpful. Although support was accomplished strictly via email, replies were generally received within a days time. After becoming more familiarized with how these cameras work, I have decided to place an additional order.

    For WiFi, I Love it!
I really like Reolink offerings and this is no exception. I prefer PoE cameras, but to be able to replace a standard floodlight with one with a camera is optimal! I have it connected to the NVR for recordings and it’s a nice camera when you might not be able to get network cabling ran, this fills the void. Little more expensive than I like, but so far so good!

This is an exceptional security camera, offering a wide range of customizable features without the need for a subscription. It paired seamlessly with my Home Hub and effectively filters which videos are sent to the Hub and which are stored locally on the camera (if you install a microSD). I can access all recorded videos through the playback feature on the app, which typically includes motion without people, but any time it detects a person the video is saved to the Home Hub. I appreciate that it can sense movement out of its direct field of view and will automatically turn the camera to record in the direction it sensed movement. It follows my dog around the yard whenever he’s within range of the camera and sensors, letting me keep an eye on him from inside through my Amazon Echo 15. The picture clarity is outstanding, even in low light conditions. The infrared imagery is clear and crisp, and the camera can be set to turn on its lights upon detecting motion, which changes the recording to full color. You can also set it for dusk to dawn lighting or to stay on 24/7, which is useful. I can see every small detail clearly, such as individual leaves, regardless of the quality of the lighting. The sensitivity settings for detection can be adjusted individually—such as setting vehicle detection to low, animal detection to medium, and person detection to high—allowing customization based on your specific needs and where the camera is located. The camera is sturdy, durable, and easy to install. I installed it myself using just a small handheld electric screwdriver and had no trouble mounting it on the wall to my existing junction box. It came with all the necessary hardware to complete the installation. The instructions were clear, concise, and easy to follow, and I had no issues at all. The app is fantastic with so many options for set up. It takes a while to go through all the settings and configure it how you personally like it, but once you have the camera and app settings sorted it basically runs itself, and you just need to check notifications as they occur. I have already recommended this brand and this specific camera to friends and coworkers, and I likely would never swap to another brand after using these. I have 6 cameras by Reolink on my property and they’re basically foolproof.

This camera offers excellent security features in one unit. The dual-lens 4K quality is sharp, and the 360° auto tracking works smoothly. The floodlight is very bright and activates quickly when motion is detected. I like the AI detection and local video search, which makes reviewing footage easy. Setup was straightforward, and WiFi 6 connectivity is stable.A strong option for serious home security.

My neighborhood has been getting sketchy lately, with a lot of weird incidents happening at night. We finally decided to get a serious camera to add some real security to the house. I specifically looked for a solid name brand because I did not want to deal with cheap devices and returns! I just wanted something I could set up once and forget about. This Reolink TrackFlex is honestly a beast. Since it is hardwired into the house power, you never have to worry about climbing a ladder to change dead batteries. I had my wife’s uncle come over to help me install it because he is a semi-professional handyman. We swapped out the old light fixture above the garage. I frankly would not have been able to do it myself because I hate messing with electricity. If you are like me, I definitely recommend getting a pro to handle the wiring part. The camera itself has some really smart features. The coolest part is the dual-lens system. It has one wide lens to see the whole driveway and another one that zooms in to track people. The floodlights are insane at 3000 lumens. It lights up the front yard like a stadium when motion is detected. It was so bright that we had to lower the intensity in the app because I was worried the neighbors would complain. And there are many other essential features like the pan and tilt, the 360 degrees view of the street, the great app that allows you to customize every aspect, etc. As I said earlier, it’s a beast! The biggest win is that you do not have to pay for any monthly cloud subscriptions. It is a huge money saver compared to those other brands that charge you forever. We just put a microSD card in the slot, and it saves all the clips right there. You can also send the video to a NAS or an NVR if you have a bigger setup and are looking for local storage. It gives you multiple options to keep your data safe at home. It definitely helps us sleep better knowing this thing is watching the house day and night.

I installed the Reolink TrackFlex Camera after too many late-night disturbances in the driveway. It replaced an old motion light that only lit the area without showing what triggered it. There are other options, but I wanted recording with no subscription fees.Since it’s hardwired, setup takes a bit of planning. I used the existing light wiring, which made it easier. The USB-C port lets you get WiFi and the app working before mounting. Scanning the QR code was straightforward. The app gives control over alerts, lighting, tracking and recording. It’s been running for a week under the eaves and handled a rain shower without issue. The dual-lens design is smart. The wide lens keeps the full driveway in view while the PTZ lens tracks movement smoothly. Delivery drivers and vehicles are captured reliably. Tracking is smooth with only slight motor noise.Daytime footage is crisp enough to read number plates. At night the floodlight gives bright, adjustable lighting and enables colour night vision. Motion detection triggers the lights, siren or voice prompts accurately. Local storage on a 512GB microSD gives several days of 4K or weeks at lower resolutions.Compared to just a floodlight, this is a real upgrade. The build feels durable. The dual-lens system, powerful floodlight and smart detection make it more capable than basic WiFi cameras. This is a permanent installation. It suits anyone who wants visible, reliable coverage without subscription costs. Professional installation should be considered if you don’t already have wiring in place.

I installed the Reolink TrackFlex Floodlight / Camera as a hardwired replacement for an exterior light, powered from a standard junction box. From a system design standpoint, it behaves like a permanently installed surveillance device rather than a consumer convenience camera. The dual-lens architecture separates responsibilities cleanly. The wide-angle lens provides continuous scene coverage, while the PTZ lens handles optical tracking. This prevents loss of situational awareness during zoom or tracking events. In practice, the wide view keeps recording while the tracking lens follows movement independently, which is particularly useful for long driveways or open yard layouts.Pan and tilt behaviour is controlled and deliberate. Tracking initiates quickly once motion is classified and maintains lock without constant correction. Movement is smooth enough to keep subjects centred without visible jitter. Motor noise exists but is negligible once installed outdoors. Image quality is consistent across both lenses. Daytime footage shows good sharpness and usable detail at distance on the zoom lens. At night, the floodlight enables colour capture rather than forcing infrared, which improves identification detail. Light output and activation behaviour are configurable, allowing the setup to be tuned for different environments and distances. Motion detection and object classification run locally and differentiate between people, vehicles, and animals. After adjusting sensitivity and detection zones, alerts remained focused and did not trigger excessively from environmental motion. Auto-tracking only engages after classification, which reduces unnecessary camera movement. The mobile app is functional and largely utilitarian. Live view loads quickly, and switching between wide and tracking lenses is immediate. Manual PTZ controls respond with low latency, making it easy to reposition the camera if needed. Playback is straightforward, with timeline-based scrubbing and event markers that make it reasonably efficient to locate motion clips, especially when continuous recording is enabled. Configuration options are extensive but not hidden. Detection sensitivity, tracking behaviour, lighting rules, recording mode, and notification logic are all adjustable without digging through nested menus. The app allows local-only operation without forcing cloud subscriptions, and storage options integrate cleanly with microSD cards or Reolink hubs. Notifications are configurable enough to avoid excessive alerts once properly tuned. WiFi performance through the app has been stable on both bands, with no noticeable dropouts during live viewing or playback. Overall, the app prioritizes control and access over visual polish, which suits a device focused on continuous monitoring rather than casual check-ins.Taken as a whole, the camera and app operate as a cohesive system focused on coverage continuity, predictable tracking behaviour, and local control. It feels closer to a traditional surveillance setup with modern software controls, rather than a lifestyle-oriented smart home device. This is a worthwhile upgrade and quality of life improvement to the monitoring of any property. Highly recommend!
