It is smaller too.Part of the solution to getting best performance out of the charger is the power source you plug it into.To get best charging speed, you MUST plug it into a 9 volt 2 amp source. Less than 9v or 2a, not only will the charging speed be substantially reduced, both the charger and the receiver will run hot, since they are not getting enough power, so they are not running smoothly and consistently and instead varying charge and struggling to stay at optimum.Anyway, I hope this helps.Spent a lot of time, trying different Qi chargers and receivers, measuring charge rates and times and this one combination was immensely faster than all others! Almost as fast as a direct cable, instead of wireless Qi.

Charges quickly
This charger is great, but it absolutely depends on the kind of case you have on your phone. A plain case with no credit card holder or clip is your best bet. It only works with my phone if I take it out of the case (I have two credit cards in my phone case and it’s too much distance. You have to sit the phone on the charger in just the right spot for it to charge, which is my only complaint — if you bump it just slightly, no charge. It’s best for an out-of-the way location or a room that won’t have any activity for the charge period.I don’t know if it’s possible, but it’d be so nice for chargers to be able to charge when the phone is face down. I prefer to sleep with my phone that way so there’s no light.The good news is the light on the charger does turn off when it’s charging. You just have to wait a couple minutes. The bad news: It seems to stay lit up when it’s just plugged in and not charging. I don’t need even more light sources in my room. Overall, it’s inexpensive, but it’s also just as easy to plug the phone into a charging cable that doesn’t require the phone to be “just so.”

You will be rolling the dice with this charger. We purchased 2. One charger works fine with both of our phones. The other is difficult to seat our phones on it to get it to properly start charging (it rapidly blinks bluez). After multiple attempts and it blinks blue slowly, it slowly charges. Starting at 40% charge, it take more than 8 hours to fully charge although it indicated it will take 3 hours. Now it stops charging at 70%.I am 15 days outside of the return window.

I got this charger to use in our new RAV4 Hybrid. It is a larger size round pad but fits perfectly in the tray under the dashboard for convenient use plugged into the lighter socket. I have to make sure the phone is centered on it to start the charging but once it is seated properly, it charges well.
