Two plugs in one that work individually or together
I love this plug. Each outlet is controlled separately. You can have them both on, just one on, both off. They can be controlled by Alexa in the app, set up individual routines, or tell an Alexa device to operate them. The night light has multiple settings for brightness and sensitivity including turning it completely off. It was very easy to set up and use.

Small issues with Eero routers
The device works as intended but if you have eero routers, it’s a bit of a hassle because the device only accepts 2.4ghz. So you have to temporarily disable eero 5ghz in the app. After that, manually type it in your network.I’m a bit of a techy so it wasn’t too bad but I’m thinking anyone not so savvy would be frustrated.

A Great Plug
Works Great with no connection issues. I tried an offbrand that said it worked with Alexa, first, but it was a pain keeping it connected. My suggestion is you just stick with the Amazon brand.

Motion Light Yes, Motion Plug No
This plug has one motion-sensor-activated night light and two independently controlled outlets. Setup with Alexa was quick and easy.However, it didn’t work for my use case. I was looking for a motion-activated outlet, but that’s not what this is. The motion sensor only controls the built-in night light. The two plugs operate independently and cannot be triggered by motion. For me, that was a missed opportunity.

Perfect for Hands-Free Garage Lighting
I got this Amazon Basics Dual Smart Plug with Motion Sensor to automatically turn on my garage lights when I walk in, and it works exactly as I hoped. Setup with Alexa was quick and easy, and it pairs perfectly with my other smart plugs. The motion sensor is responsive, and the built-in night light is a nice bonus. Great for hands-free convenience—definitely recommend.

The motion sensor is so bad that it’s useless
The motion sensor is so bad that it’s useless. I made a routine so motion turns on my hallway light. But even on the lowest sensitivity, it randomly turns on my hallway light all night long. And since it’s on low sensitive, it doesn’t detect me in the hallway until I’m right up in front of it. I don’t know why it keeps triggering. For it to work in a hallway, it needs more long range, but there’s no way or it falsely triggers even more than it already does. I was really hoping for an Alexa motion sensor that you could plug directly into the wall, but this is completely worthless for my needs.

Dual outlet yes, Motion sense NO.
So, this works as a dual smart outlet only. I tried for days to get the motion to work with automation and it just doesn’t. The sensor picks up random nothingness, and it sets off the automation for no reason. I was trying to get it to turn on an outlet on motion in the baby room for nighttime diaper changes. There was a lamp plugged into the outlet but everytime the lamp comes on it’s a different brightness. So I created a routine that was started on motion and it was to turn the outlet on. After no motion for a set time it would turn off, pause 5 seconds, then come back on, wait 5 sec then back on etc. sounds dumb but had to do it because I was trying to make the lamp come on to the dimmest setting and that was the only way. I could get it to work right when I programmed it, but I go back the next day and it’s all messed up. so I ‘d watch it from outside the room and see the light coming on randomly when there’s nobody in or near the room. I even taped over the side sensors to make sure it wasn’t picking up anything from the hallway but still comes on randomly.So again, great as a dual outlet for when you need two like I do, but worthless as motion. I just turned the motion off in the app.

I am a huge fan of automation because it really helps me with my ADHD. I forget to turn things on and off, so these plugs allow me to set a routine so that I never have to worry about forgetting! I love how you can name and program each individual plug, it’s so helpful.These two I have attached to my electric kettle and my smoothie bullet. I manually switch my kettle on but keep the plug off; when I’m on my way home from work or school I will tell Alexa to turn the plug on and I’ll have hot water ready for my tea when I get home! In the mornings, I can set my nutribullet up and ask Alexa to turn it on and off while I’m doing something else!I also love the motion sensor feature and the night light feature. I have the motion sensor set up so that Alexa will give me a compliment every time I’m in the kitchen xD, and the night light really helps when I need a midnight snack or drink of water :)This really helps me with multitasking and I’ve really loved finding creative uses for these smart plugs. Automating some of the more mundane aspects of my life have really helped me to reduce my mental load 🙂 I highly recommend!

I needed a plug for behind a counter that I could turn on and off with alexa or an app. This one works perfectly! I wish I had more uses for more. My bedroom TV stopped wanting to turn off so I moved it upstairs and used it until I could get a new TV.

The Amazon Basics Dual Smart Plug with Motion Sensor has its good and not so good points. It is easy to set up. Each outlet, the night light, and the motiion sensor can be controlled separately. However, this unit is unnecessarily large; it is huge in height, width, and depth. The two outlets have been working well and can be turned on and off individually or as a pair. The motion sensor has a mind of its own; it detects motion that isn’t there and turns on the night light. It is possible to disable the night light and the motion sensor. Even when disabled, the night light sometimes appears at its minimum setting. Do better Amazon.
