No way to activate the 6 month subscription
Can’t figure out how to activate the 6 months subscription that comes with this item. Not worth the $$ without the subscription.Edit: spoke with Arlo service and the 6 month subscription is really a free trial only for the cameras in this box. If you have other Arlo cameras that you want to have the full features for (including recording motion alerts) then you still need to purchase a subscription.

Good option for Home Security at fair price
Overall good quality camera system easy to install and setup. Only concern is the playback of events. Play back not seem to show complete picture of person walking by it seems to grab a portion of the event and takes a long time to buffer the replay

Clear Video and Helpful Alerts
This camera has been a good upgrade for home monitoring and it does what it promises. The video is very clear and the image looks good both day and night. I can easily see when packages arrive or when someone walks up to the door. The smart detection works well and I like that it can tell the difference between people vehicles and pets. This helps avoid useless alerts. Notifications come through fast and the animated preview lets me quickly decide if I need to open the app. The app layout is simple and easy to understand. Setup was quick and I had the camera running in minutes without any tools. The wireless design makes it easy to place anywhere around the house. Battery performance has been good so far and charging is not a hassle. The included subscription trial was useful and gave access to video history and activity zones. I liked being able to review events from earlier days.

Great cameras and the solar works like a charm.
I must say that I have been extremely impressed with this camera system. I was originally skeptical that the low wattage solar panels wouldn’t be able to keep the cameras charged. But I can confidently say that I have yet to have a camera die due to battery life, and I live in the north where we get really short days in winter. Speaking of winter, mine have thus far survived snow, rain, and 100 mph winds. So I would definitely say that they’re durable. I do wish the range of the Wifi was a bit better, but it was good enough that I was able to get these put on both entrances to my house. I think the most important thing that these cameras has given me is peace of mind. When my kids walk home from school I get a notification on my phone and I can talk to them through the camera. I actually was so impressed by these three cameras that I ended up purchasing a couple indoor cameras as well. Unfortunately, these require a subscription to use past the trial period, but on the plan you use for these three cameras you can use unlimited cameras. So expansion is as easy as registering the new ones to your account.

3 camera setup with solar
I LOVE Arlo. They work great. I have had gen 2 for a few yrs and am glad to get gen 3’s. The picture is better. The app is the same which is easy to use once you get them connected. Free for a week and if you want saved longer there is a monthly fee. Motion sensors work very well and catches short clips and uploads to internet automatically. Battery life seems to be the same, about every few weeks I swap. Its a good idea to have two sets of batteries though so you don’t have down time. Solar panels must have full sunlight which i don’t so I hooked one of them up and have to swap the battery after just over 2 months since it gets some sunlight.

This model camera cannot be used in this region (Bermuda).
