The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) is Google’s smartest, most advanced thermostat yet. It’s a beautiful way to save energy. It learns the temperatures you like, when you like them, even as your routine changes.[1] And it helps make sure your heating and cooling systems run smoothly.
Nest’s smartest, most advanced thermostat yet, the Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) is a beautiful, brilliant way to save energy, keep your home comfortable, and help make sure your heating and cooling systems are running smoothly[4]
Improved compatibility: It works with most 24V systems, including gas, electric, oil, forced air, heat pump, and radiant, and no C wire is required for installation in most homes; visit the Nest Compatibility Checker for more info[5]
Easy control in the Google Home app: Adjust on your phone from anywhere[1] or by using your voice with Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant smart speaker[3], it’s easy to install yourself and it’s Matter compatible for simple integration into your smart home[5]
Beautiful design: With a 60% larger display[11] and Dynamic Farsight, you can see info from across the room[1]; choose the design, like a clock or the weather; it automatically adjusts brightness for the best readability or you can adjust manually
Better visibility into adjustments: Asks for permission to make schedule changes to help you save energy; you’ll receive notifications in the Google Home app, and you can view and accept changes with a tap[1]
Manage hot and cold spots: It comes with the Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) and works with any Nest Temperature Sensor; put a sensor in any room and use the Google Home app to set the temp it should reach at a certain time of day
Savings you can count on: The Nest Learning Thermostat can help save up to 31% on heating and cooling bills[2]
New natural heating and cooling: Your thermostat learns how the temperature outside affects the temperature inside (for example, when the sun coming through the windows will heat the house naturally) and pauses your system to help you save[1]
New Adaptive Eco: It uses the temperature outside to help find an energy-saving temperature when you’re away and returns to a comfortable temperature within an hour of your return[1]

Fantastic, highly recommend!!!
I was trying to determine if I was having an issue with my thermostat, my furnace.. or both (yikes). I had an Ecobee, which had been installed for roughly 10 years. Worked great, then I started having issues with getting heat to turn on in my house as it should. Process of elimination, I opted to try Google Nest. I LOVE this. Massive upgrade to what I had, easy to install, and the issue I was having became clear to be the thermostat and not my furnace. In fairness, it likely just needed to be upgraded, but I have other Google Home items and have heard good things about Nest. I have been very happy with it already. And unlike the Ecobee where I need to set schedules for ‘home’ vs ‘away’, etc.. this is a learning thermostat, so it naturally learns when you aren’t home and just turns the heat off (within reason – I haven’t woken up to my house being below 50 degrees or anything). If I am gone all day, the moment I walk in the door and the Nest “sees” me.. it kicks on to heat. It’s also very sleek looking, but super easy to use so it doesn’t come off super techy or anything. Highly recommend!

So convenient and beautiful display.
Debated between polished silver and black obsidian. Went with silver because lower price. Happy the way of looks. Upgrading from Gen 3 Nest and this has a much larger animated display. Uses google home instead of the Nest App. Working great, quick instantaneous turn on and off once you switch temperatures setting. No lag. Really like the animated display. Installation was straight forward. I had a common wire but the unit is supposed to to work even without a common. Installation took less than 15minutes. My phone saw the new device and asked to connect to WiFi. Once connected new firmware was downloaded. No problems and so convenient to be able to remotely control thermostat. Not sure how effective the remote temperature sensor is. The systems takes the average temp of the thermostat and remote sensor (if selected) as your average room temperature. You can turn the remote unit off from app if needed.

Reduce your energy use and keep your house comfortable
This thermostat is great. It was easy to install, walked through wiring, and has been worked wonders on my power usage while keeping my temps comfortable. This has always been a struggle because the back of my house is NW facing and almost all windows. In the South. My primary is farthest away from the HVAC, so the sensor helps the system find a balanced temp. My bedroom is usually 8-10° cooler (lots of windows and an exterior door). But I can also deselect the bedroom sensor if it’s not a concern at the time. I loved it enough to buy a second and I can’t wait to compare my 12month usage before and after.

The Nest is Junk!
I’m extremely disappointed with the Google Nest Thermostat (Gen 4). It looks sleek and modern, but the performance has been terrible. The thermostat could not maintain the temperature in my home. Even when the temperature was only 1 degree different from the setting, the system would run continuously trying to “catch up,” no matter where I placed the sensor in the house. I moved the sensor to several different locations and the problem never improved. On top of that, my HVAC fan kept turning off on the A/C unit, which made the system behave even more erratically.I finally had to call an HVAC technician to come diagnose the problem. As soon as he saw the Nest installed, he said he was almost certain it was the issue. He even told me he avoids dealing with Nest thermostats because he has had many customers with similar problems. So I ended up paying for a service call just to confirm that the thermostat itself was faulty. After switching back to my original thermostat, my heating system works perfectly again. What frustrates me the most is that the Nest looks fancy and modern, but in my case it simply didn’t work properly. Now I’m stuck with an expensive thermostat I can’t return.I highly do not recommend the Google Nest. It may look modern and “smart,” but in my experience it’s completely unreliable and ended up being a total waste of money. Very disappointing.

All my Google Nest products very reliable!
Great thermostat and pkg also included room sensor. This is my 2nd Google Nest installation, I upgraded to Gen 4 for new features but 1st one, 7 years old, still working properly. I had new heat pump installed and servicer installed same brand thermostat as heat pump. I prefer Google Nest brand so I had them change out to Google Nest so I can use one brand for thermostat, doorbell, and outdoor cameras. A little pricey but worth the cost!

Great Thermostat
I upgraded from the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Generation so I’ve had some experience with these thermostats. It does look more modern, upgraded and slimmer so this was an added because I was actually remodeling my home. My only gripe that knocked it from a 5 star to 4 star was because they removed the thermostat’s functionality from the Nest app and now you can only use Apple Home after you install it in the Google Home App. You can control it with Alexa and Google Home devices but I never like the Google Home App so for me its a recommend still because it is a great product that helps you monitor your AC usage, control while away and it provides monthly reports to show you how to efficiently use your AC system

The Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) paired with the Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd Gen) has been an excellent upgrade for our home.Installation was straightforward, and the setup through the Google Home app was smooth and intuitive. The thermostat looks sleek and modern, and the display is clear and easy to read. The learning feature works well—after a short adjustment period, it began automatically optimizing our heating and cooling schedule without constant manual input. The temperature sensor is a great addition. It allows us to prioritize comfort in the rooms we actually use, rather than relying solely on the thermostat’s location. This has made a noticeable difference in maintaining consistent temperatures, especially during the night.Energy efficiency is another strong point. We’ve already seen more balanced heating cycles and less unnecessary runtime, which should translate into savings over time.Overall, this is a smart, well-designed product that delivers on both comfort and convenience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to modernize their home climate control system.

The Google Nest Thermostat is a fantastic addition to any home. Its sleek design with a mirror finish not only performs well but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the room. Setup and installation were incredibly simple and user-friendly.It comes with a sensor that is advertised to work up to 50 feet away, but I’ve found it functions just as effectively even a little farther. The thermostat works seamlessly and meets all my expectations.Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it! Little expensive but Value for Money
