Excellent product. All metal construction, very solid. Has great grip on different sizes of cellphone, and has rubber grips so it doesn’t damage the cellphone case. There are two knobs to tighten the mount into the desired position. These two knobs are very solid and work well. The mount screws into a standard camera tripod without issues. It works in both portrait and landscape orientation by adjusting one of the knobs on the mount The knobs are cross-hatched, making them easy to grip. Once set in position, it doesn’t sag or droop in any way, even with my large iPhone 14 Pro Max. It’s getting a lot of use, and is well worth the money spent.

WOW!!!! This thing is great. Very well made and solid. It’s locking devices are solid and easy to use. My camera is not going any where once I lock it in this. The construction is all high quality aluminum. They put a lot of thought into this and made an awesome product. The packaging it came in was outstanding, with high density foam surrounding the product and the box and plastic covering was perfect. Very well made and packaging was great. This company really cares about building a great product for it’s customer’s. Well done Ulanzi. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a phone holder that mounts to a tri-pod/bi-pod.

Good, and I would still buy it again, but it could be better
I like this adapter/mount well enough that I’ve recommended it to other people I know, but there are some things about it that I don’t like. I haven’t had it very long, so this is all basically early impressions, but early impressions from someone with a fair amount of photo experience.Build quality seems fine and it’s only a few small steps away from feeling premium. It feels pretty good in hand with a smooth finish and parts that fit together well.My two biggest complaints are the groove width in the jaws and the spring being too strong.I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max in what I consider a fairly average case. The case isn’t all that bulky, though it also isn’t the slimmest, and it’s pushing the limits of “fitting” in the grooves in the jaws. I’ve been thinking about switching to a thicker case for more protection, but a thicker case would be more problematic for fitting in this mount. But, the jaws do open plenty wide enough for my phone – there’s roughly 1/2” to spare.I can operate the jaws OK, but it’s awkward due to the spring strength. The spring is strong enough that it’ll hold the phone without having to tighten the locking knob, which is nice, but the downside is that makes the spring strong enough to offer an uncomfortable amount of resistance to open and hold open the jaws to fit the phone in. It’s not a deal-breaker for me, but I can imagine it being a deal-breaker for a lot of people.I would prefer, I think, a cam lever lock for the jaws rather than a knob. Especially with the stronger spring, a lever would be make dealing with it much easier.Rather than what seems to be teeth or pins that grab in recesses for the rotation lock, I think I would prefer just the detents and friction. I don’t like having to “hunt” for when the knob is loose enough to disengage the lock without being so loose it feels sloppy.Considering the other options I found, this mount seems to represent a good value, but I still think it’s overpriced at regular price. Buying it on sale, I didn’t feel like I got a bargain, but it’s more in line with what I think the price should be. Having used some of the cheaper ones, I wouldn’t want to buy one of those – they’re clunkier to operate, they break, etc. This one, while not perfect, seems like it’ll last and it mostly feels OK to use.

This is a quality bit of gear. The design is great: I love the way that, once the jaws have closed over the phone, you can lock them in place: it makes it rock solid. I’m amazed that something made of metal and with this level of engineering can be made for this price. My previous holder was a similar looking Manfrotto, but this blows it out of the water. Clever design features like several cold shoe mounts make this very usable too.One note: on Amazon.com.au, this was sold as “PICTRON Metal Phone Tripod Mount…” however both the packaging and device are branded Ulanzi (which is what it should be. Don’t let “Picton” throw you off).Finally, I saw some reviews saying that the device doesn’t hold phones with rounded edges: hogwash – I am using it with an iPhone 11 Pro Max in a clear cover and it is clamped perfectly. in fact, I think Ulanzi are on to the perfect system here: something that both clamps and locks in place.

I use this for my iPhone 13 Pro Max and it locks perfectly and rigidly into place (even with a case attached). The milled aluminuim is well produced with no rough edges. There are some threaded holes that you can fit extra stuff like small LED’s or even an external microphone. Due to the qualiity of the product, should last some time.Great purchase.
