    Great camera all around!
This ring camera works great. I’m happy that they included the doorbell adapter to change the analog interior door doorbell. Overall set up was really easy. It took me about 30 minutes to do the camera and the doorbell on the inside. The camera connected right away to my current system. I do have the bare minimum doorbell transformer required to run it and so far I haven’t had any problems. The picture quality is way better than the old ring camera and it is nice to not have to go out and change the battery periodically.

Nice upgrade over my 2019 pro model
I have had my original Ring doorbell Pro since 2019 and have loved it. Never any issues at all during those years.I recently decided to upgrade to the new 3rd gen Pro, there was a $50 off promo so I decided why not.The new Pro 4k is s noticeable improvement for sure. The video quality is a huge jump, I would not compare the 4k quality to real 4k at all though. The quality was a really big jump still. I have a yellow porch light and at night with the new camera it may as well be day light. The low light capability is a huge jump over my previous camera.Install was simple, it used the same screw holes as my previous camera mount. Just had to attach 2 new wires, the new camera came with blade fittings and nuts vs using bare wire like the previous camera. The app walks you through everything once the camera is mounted, 10 min job.I did upgrade my transformer with the Ring brand one the day after installing the new camera. It also made a huge difference. I honestly didn’t even think about my transformer as my house is not too old. However after checking my original transformer was only 16v 10va. The new transformer is 16v 30va, so clearly a lot more power being offered to the camera. That was also very simple to upgrade. After upgrading the transformer the wifi connection was stronger by a small amount -30 to -25. Ring app power level went from 2 to 1. The video went from 1.3 a 1.8 mbps to 5-8 mbps. Double check your transformer before upgrading cameras for sure.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can see the aliens out my front door now! 👽🚪😂
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can see the aliens out my front door now! 👽🚪😂This doorbell camera is insane. I installed the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen) and suddenly I know way more about who — or what — is hanging around my porch. Motion kicks in, and I’m like “Dang, that’s just the delivery guy… never mind.” But honestly, the clarity is unreal. It’s like watching a sci-fi movie live right on my phone.Night vision? Forget fuzzy shadows — this thing lets you see color details even in low light. It literally turns pitch black into “clear-as-day” mode. It’s almost unfair how much detail it captures. I half expect to see aliens peeking back at me in HD.And the setup was surprisingly painless — hardwired in just fine and now I get alerts, live views, and crisp video whenever anything moves by the door. If you want to actually see what’s going on outside (instead of guessing at silhouettes), this is a fantastic upgrade. Highly recommend!

Very Disappointing Downgrade Disguised As An Upgrade!
I replaced a Ring Video Doorbell Pro (1st gen), expecting equal or better performance. The new model removed pixel‑based motion detection and relies on radar and infrared, which caps detection distance to ~20–30 ft. It misses events my old doorbell caught effortlessly (such as someone at my mailbox or walking up my driveway, both more than 30 ft away from the doorbell). The extremely wide-angle camera lens probably doesn’t help, reducing objects at a distance to fewer image pixels to analyze. Ring’s marketing implies improved detection, but doesn’t disclose the reduced range or the removal of camera‑based motion detection. The recommended 56‑inch mounting height is impossible for most homes with existing wiring. This is a downgrade disguised as an upgrade.Simple Comparison: Old Ring Pro vs. New Ring Pro (3rd Gen)1. What the old Pro did well• Detected anything moving in the camera view — people, cars, packages, you name it• Let you draw motion zones that actually worked• “People Only” mode filtered out almost all false alerts• Caught motion far down the driveway or sidewalk2. What the new Pro does instead• Only detects motion inside a short bubble in front of the door• Often misses people until they’re very close• Motion Zones don’t help if the doorbell never detects motion in the first place• Recommended mounting height doesn’t match where most doorbells are wired3. Bottom lineThe older Pro detected more, detected earlier, and filtered better. The new Pro detects less, detects later, and hides the downgrade behind marketing terms.Ring could fix this by processing video uploads at the server level and restoring pixel-motion analysis AI-based detection. I recommend you don’t buy this Ring doorbell until they do. Yes, the image sharpness and the improved night vision are fantastic. Love that. But detecting anything outside the 20 to 30 ft bubble sucks big time. I feel like I wasted $250. 🙁

Easy install, awesome features, mini chime is great.
Love it! I’m a heavy Alexa user with many of them around my home and shop. This integrates so well. I had a wired doorbell with chime, so basically replaced the button with this. HOWEVER, this will not activate you existing chime. It comes with a wired mini chime though. Easy to wire in with your exiting chime by just following the instructions. However, do NOT put it inside your chime enclosure or it will result in low volume like several reviews report. Mount it either on the wall near your existing chime or do what i did and mount it on the existing chime (see the picture). The volume is very loud then and you may need to turn the volume down in the app.

Very easy to install. I am a homemaker who loves to save money. You Don’t Need To Hire an Electrician! I did have to replace the doorbell transformer, easy to change. The picture quality is amazing!!
