Great smart outlet for a larger Tapo smart home setup
TP-Link Tapo Smart Plug ā Wi-Fi In-Wall Outlet, Matter Compatible with Energy Monitoring (15A)This is another solid addition to my TP-Link Tapo smart home ecosystem.I currently run more than 50 Tapo devices throughout my house including switches, dimmers, outlets, and smart plugs. These in-wall smart outlets fit right into that system and were very easy to add to the existing setup.Installation was straightforward and once added to the Tapo app they integrated seamlessly with the rest of my routines and automations. I use several of these to control everyday items and simple automation tasks around the house. The Matter support is a big advantage since it allows local control and fast response times even if the internet connection drops. The energy monitoring feature is also a nice bonus for keeping an eye on power usage for certain devices.Reliability has been excellent so far. Like the rest of my Tapo devices, these have stayed connected and responded consistently through both the Tapo app and voice control through Alexa.Overall this has been another dependable piece of hardware in my larger Tapo smart home setup.

Great product, even without automation, still an easy relatively cheap way to monitor power usage
Overall I love this outlet, I wish they made one that will work in lower temperatures. I bought this originally planning to install inside of my detached (non heated) garage to plug my block heater in and schedule it to turn on a couple hours before I wake up instead of staying on all of the time (knowing that the listing states it is not rated for those temps, I live in Minnesota and frequently see negative temps.) upon receiving it, I also realized it was going to be too far for my internet as well and decided to install inside. I love the way I can easily set these up and control them from anywhere. On my personal device I have the Tapo app and can easily set schedules, usage, and even power used out of each individual plug which I really love for figuring out what actually uses a substantial amount of energy, and what i could hypothetically leave on all month and not notice in my bill one bit (even if your mother/father told you how much electricity something uses, i have been shocked at what does, and what actually doesn’t.) then On my work phone I love that this is compatible with the google home app, so i can easily check if it is on or off and change it if desired. I can also allow other people to connect to it via google home, and they can turn it on or off, without completely re-designing the schedule that I had pre-set. overall works great and I love this outlet, i just wish they would make some that can stand up to colder temps, but that is no knock on this product.

Great smart outlets
I’ve replaced quite a few of my standard outlets with these. They’re relatively inexpensive, super easy to install and configure with the Tapo app, and I like that I can create automations based on sunrise/sunsets, power usage, etc. I’ve encountered a few quirks trying to get them to integrate into Apple Home and Home Assistant, but generally they work very well.

Good product, installation not too DIY friendly
The product looks good. Setup with HomeKit was easy and it is priced reasonably compared to other products. However, there are few aspects I didnāt like. Hence, 3 stars rating.Installation was challenging since it doesnāt come with a pig tail wire. In comparison, I have installed many smart accessories across the home. None this challenging.Additionally, it comes with the cover plate. But itās almost useless since the main device itself doesnāt seem to have been produced to fit the existing setup that good. I had bought a bunch of them and barely installed 2 and now Iām rethinking if I should return the next.Update: I installed 3 on key locations and returned 5. And now, I just bought an additional one.On the good side, the response time is quick and has been helpful for automating lights and air fresheners. Got another one for Christmas light automation. The energy usage feature in the app is also awesome although I donāt use much. I think itās a good option to have. Changed from 3 star to 4 now. Installation is still challenging. I would say not DIY friendly. I had to buy Romex cables just to add pig tail wires. Without it, itās a lot difficult to hook up the wires. TP link: if you are listening, please include the wires like Leviton does with their switches. Saves so much time and hassle.

Connected to Home Assistant no problem.
Although it says matter, only turning on and off the individual switches is exposed through matter. I had to load the TP-Link integration in Home Assistant to see the additional sensors like Current, Current consumption, Voltage as well as advanced features like Auto-off etc. I use this in automations to detect when non-smart things are turned on and off based on their power consumption.

Tapo Remains Affordable and Reliable for Your Smart Home! Be Aware of Potential China Spying.
Despite its more-than-likely spying on our behaviors and scrubbing our network telemetry to send back to china, I’ve found them to be very easy to set up and super reliable. It’s so nice to be able to plug whatever into these outlets like a lamp or vacuum and know just how much energy it is taking over a period of time. Not to mention the automation you can achieve with additional components, such as the motion sensor. Having this built-in to the house is a lot cleaner and nicer than two separate smart plugs!

Works well
4 receptical they work great thru TP app, and shut off and on with Home Automation, except TP outlets only allow off and on and not power usage thru matters.

Replace Wemo (Belkin) with tp-link tapo!
I wanted to have a smoother looking outlet for a night light.Instead of plugging a smart plug into a regular outlet, I chose to replace the outlet with this tapo brand unit. Easy to install, setup, and add to tapo app.Due to Wemo (Belkin) abandoning their support of similar products, I have moved to tp-link tapo for cameras, outlets, and plugs. The products and the app appear to be one of the best.

Lo uso con un calentador electrico y hasta ahora todo bien, veremos que tiempo aguanta.

Very easy to install. But when the breaker gets turned on, the Tapo app recognizes it as a new device right away. However, I still needed to manually add it as a new device to pair it to my network.

CompatĆvel com smartthings Energy, pode ser instalado duas vezes ao mesmo tempo. Wi-fi no app tapo e via matter no hub smartthings.
