Heavy, functional, somewhat easier to clean than average.
I am somewhat skeptical of the efficacy of such gadgets. The ones that I have used in the past tend to be a nightmare to clean. I am also a train chef, and can achieve the same result with a knife, by hand. This is easier to clean than the ones that I have used in the past. It certainly crushes garlic well, and it is easy enough to scrape the residual garlic into the press to get the most out of each clove (but one must do this often, it will push the garlic to the sides). The thing is quite heavy. Heavier than I expected. I am not sure if it is solid zinc or plated. There are edges that look like they could erode in the future. I find the scraper superfluous. It is a decent garlic press, but it is heavier than expected and at first glance, I’m not sure I expect it to hold up under heavy use and washing. It is sturdy thus far. Time will tell.

So much better than my previous press!
A couple years ago, I bought a garlic press from a big box store that I have found nothing but frustrating since buy it… mainly for how much it would leave in the press, how hard it was to clean, and the fact is it is predominately plastic. I had gotten to the point that I’d almost rather just go at the garlic and mince it with a knife. I ran across this press and ordered it through Amazon’s Vine program. I figured it has to be better than what I have. I can tell you, it is SO MUCH BETTER!Let me get the negative out of the way first… And that is the price. At $26 at the time of this review, there is a very small percentage of presses that are more expensive. The press it was replacing cost about half of this new one… but the new one absolutely puts the old one to shame. It might be twice the cost but it seems to perform 2 to 3 times better.The construction looks fantastic. It has a noticeable heft in the hand and feels substantial, like it is a real tool. The hinge is smooth and overall, doesn’t require a ton of force to run garlic through it. And incidentally, this thing is a breez to use. But where I really became a fan is with the clean up. Open the press and fold it backwards all the way and the patch with all the nubbies fits perfectly in the press’ grate, freeing up a considerable amount of waste garlic material. There is another tool that pops into the handle which scrapes the garlic from the grate and doubles a tool to pull the waste material from the cavity/hopper of the press. Clean up of this thing was an utter dream compared to my previous press.Again, the only downside I could find is the cost of entry. Are there comparable presses for less money? Perhaps. Are there horrendously frustrating presses for less money? Absolutely! While I want to give this press 4 stars due to price, I’m sticking with 5 simply because after using it, I’d be willing to spend the money on it instead of taking my chances with a cheaper on.

Finally, the perfect garlic mincer!
I have had countless garlic mincing gadgets over the years, because I put garlic in everything, but every single one of them has the issue of being difficult to clean. This one has it all covered.This garlic press impressed me right away. I was excited about the innovative design before I even got it. Then, when I received it, my first impression was that it has great quality packaging. It’s packed well, in a sturdy box with all of the features and instructions on it. It also includes a company contact card inside for customer service or warranty information. This is definitely a giftable item for any foodie type person.The garlic press is heavy-duty zinc alloy and feels like something a restaurant would use for its durability. It can hold large cloves of garlic and easily mince them by pressing the handle down. It also has two parts in the design that make this unique and a game changer for garlic mincing. One is a textured grid that folds over and pushes the stuck garlic pieces out. The other is a removable scraper tool to scrape your garlic pieces off. The scraper clips inside the garlic press to store. Both of these added features work very well. It makes it much less of a hassle to get the stuck garlic out and be able to effectively clean the press. So, functionally, this product is great.I would say the only concern of mine is if I can manage to keep the scraper in tact and attached to the press. It says the garlic press is dishwasher safe, but I may hand wash that part, just to be on the safe side.Overall, I’m super happy and excited about this garlic press! I love cooking, and I love innovative kitchen gadgets. This one is great quality and will make food prep and cleanup much easier. Also, I looked at the company’s other products, and I am tempted to buy a lot of them. Try this one, but also check out their other ones, if you love fun kitchen gadgets, like I do!
