My Favorite Garlic Press
I really like this, even while some people expect more from a garlic press. It is a fairly robust and precision device. The hinge tolerance – which sets the gap between surfaces when fully closed – is in the range of 10 mils. The surfaces are polished nonmagnetic stainless steel. The die has 8 by 14 holes, which is a fairly fine mesh, and it is effectively an easy to clean thin rolled sheet steel, not a thick sintered or cast material. The additional surfaces, the one which closes the basket and the other that forms the pressure plate, are nicely welded, with sharp corners. The handles are relatively long, for leverage, and the curved surfaces of the handles are wide and comfortable. There simply are no “extra parts” in this design which can break. It is inexpensive, and it comes with an internally ribbed silicone garlic peeler tube. This peeler works surprisingly well, by pulling the peel sideways, across the surface, rather than by crushing the garlic clove. A “more exotic” garlic press would have handles with compound curves, but I have not been able to find such a competing device, properly manufactured. The pressure plate might have had a shallower angle to the upper handle, which would make the handles easier to close for people with smaller hands. Still, overall, this garlic press is simple and effective.

FANTASTIC!!!!
Works fantastic!!!! Just a few turns and the garlic is the perfect size!! The little spreader knife doesn’t work at getting the garlic out between the bumps inside so I got a lil computer cleaning brush and it works great! It’s easy to just brush the pieces out fast. The spreader knife that comes with it takes forever and doesn’t get but half of the garlic out, the lil brush works great and fast!

Not too shabby.
This press might be a little hard to squeeze for the older folk or people with arthritis, but I imagine most presses are like that. I found that cutting the larger bulbs in half helps. Just wish it had silicone on handles for a better grip. My set included the press, peeler, scraping knife and they even supplied a cleaning brush, which was a nice surprise. The peeler works so-so, love the knife and brush, which makes cleaning a breeze.

Best press in the world
I have tried at least 20 garlic presses over the last 5 years- some from Amazon and some from Walmart/target. The biggest problem is the structural set up and most crack at the hinges after a few weeks/months. In all fairness I use these to press ginger which is much more harder than garlic. This press has it all – its structural integrity is awesome. I am so happy I bought 3 in total. It’s been 6 months for my first one and not a sign of any problems. Well designed!!!

Great garlic press!
Awesome garlic press! The only reason I found this thing is because somebody suggested it in the review of the JA Hinkles garlic press (and this looks very similar, for 10 times less). The price for this thing is sooooo much better( I almost feel a little guilty) and that’s probably why Amazon doesn’t suggest it. But I digress. The handle is a little wider than I’m used to, but I think that’s a good thing because it gives you more grip and power to press multiple cloves at once, which this thing definitely has the size and sturdiness to do.I’ve owned probably close to 10 garlic presses throughout my life, with all gimmicks and features, to no avail. This thing is sturdy, durable, with no removable, movable, or extra parts. I think my search is finally over. So unless you have teenie weeny hands, get this garlic press!!! (I’m a 5’9″ woman)
