Awesome product and great valve from an American Company 👍
Compared with my other August lock with optional Key Pad and Wi-Fi bridge that I’ve installed 3 years ago, right off the back, the Kwikset Halo Wi-Fi smart locks performs way much better and offers much attractive price in a One-Piece solution.1. Compared to the August retrofit of existing deadbolt, the Kwikset replaces the old Deadbolt and works better than August, which at times will get “hang-up” on the keeper and unable to lock. The Halo works seamlessly and works every time.2. On the Halo, Wi-Fi and Numeric pad is fully integrated into the lock hardware and works great. On the August, the optional Numeric pad sucks so much battery that it needs to be replacement very often. The August Wi-Fi bridge ad-on is just a pain in the rear, when Spectrum Internet goes down, the bridge will looses connection and have a hell of a hard time trying to get it connect. The Wi-Fi setup on the Halo is a breeze.3. The Halo apps display the battery status on the APP, while August lock don’t show battery status and email you when battery is about to die. Go figure.4. I was able to install the Halo fairly quickly reading the manuals briefly without watch install video on the APP, unlike the August, I’ve to call support during Wi-Fi bridge installation due to sloppy BlueTooth software stack implementation, the Bluetooth was not compatible with my Motorola Android phone, have to uses a older Android phone. The Wi-Fi setup on the Halo was like a walk in the park.5. Did not have a need to call customer service, unlike August, have to call their overseas based customer support that I’ve a tough time understanding due to the accent of the customer service rep.6. Overall, the Kwikset apps is easy to use and have all the functions that I needed and works great. I would be replacing the August and other manual locks soon.7. Great product, at a great price. Highly recommended.

Great simple smart lock that just works.
tl;dr: Easy to install (especially if you’ve done it before). Even easier to set up with the app. Battery life is fine for what it is.My ~8 year old smart lock was wearing out and my wife wanted something more reliable. I had been holding out for something with Matter/Thread support, but (when I was ordering) the options were practically non-existent. I had 15 different phone apps for “smart home” devices that don’t integrate with each other, and I hate it, so I started looking for a smart lock that would work for one of those apps. Again, nothing impressed me. I finally looked for the cheapest SmartKey lock so at least it would simplify something, and this was it. Looks like I am up to 16 smart home phone apps now, but at least only one house key.Installation was straight forward especially with step by step instructions from the app. Adding new user codes was a breeze.I like the notifications (they can be disabled) and the battery life display in the app. The lock actuates quickly from app actions too.For people who complain about battery life: please understand that WiFi is just not power efficient at all (hence the drive towards Matter/Thread protocols). However, the big benefit is WiFi makes it way faster and easier to communicate with less points of failure. Other options add a plug-in “bridge” that talks to the lock with a low-power wireless protocol, but those are slow and sometimes not responsive in my experience. I use 4xAA rechargeable batteries and they last 3-4 weeks depending on usage. I can change the batteries in less than 30 seconds with no tools, and you get plenty of notification before they get low enough for the lock to stop working. This works fine for our needs and I’m very satisfied with it’s build quality and function so far.

If you’re using for rental properties, DO NOT BUY!
This lock is a complete failure for anyone who actually needs reliable remote access. It only works properly if you are physically there to deal with constant updates and issues—which completely defeats the purpose of a WiFi-enabled smart lock.If you’re considering this for a rental property, especially one you don’t live near, do yourself a favor and avoid it entirely. I manage multiple properties in different cities, and this lock has been nothing but a headache. Every time it updates, it requires the phone to be re-paired locally. That means I can’t manage access remotely like it’s supposed to.In the last three months alone, I’ve had to send a property manager out multiple times just to resync the lock using my personal app credentials so I could make basic changes like adding or removing guest codes. This is completely unreasonable and incredibly disruptive—for me, my property manager, and my guests.Customer support is useless. I’ve told them repeatedly that I am over 300 miles away, and they continue to suggest the same impossible solution: physically syncing my phone to the lock. Their only alternative is to fall back on old stored codes, which in my case opens doors guests should never have access to. That’s not just inconvenient—that’s a serious security issue. To make matters worse, the battery life is terrible. Even using the recommended batteries, it barely lasts a month. This product is unreliable, poorly designed, and not fit for its intended purpose. Save yourself the time, money, and stress—buy literally anything else.

I did a lot of homework on purchasing this wifi deadbolt and went with the keypad over the touchpad. I was hesitant as quite a few reviews indicated poor wifi connection and long updates and some other issues. My experience being quite handy and installing for an existing keyed deadbolt is that it was simple, user friendly instructions to install, installed quite easy and straight forward and had absolutely no issue to connect direct by bluetooth to set up wifi connection and the perfectly smooth to hook to wifi and get the firmware update in a reasonable amount of time.My eyes will be on battery consumption as we go forward but if i have to change batteries every month so be it, not a big deal compared to the function of the unit itself and its app that shows every entry and easy to monitor and program for up to 250 diff user codes. Also has the ability to set up a timer for a one-time-use code which is handy if a contractor needs to come and i cannot be around to meet etc. I liked that feature that i was unaware it even had!So, in conclusion at this time of having it installed and operating for just ONE week so far, its a great unit!!

Es súper fácil de usar y lo más importante, es que se puede usar desde distancia usando Wi-Fi, el problema que vi , es que aveces no es fácil emparejar con el celular, pero haciendo varios intentos lo logre , me gusto mucho

I like the fact each person can have a different code so I can tell who comes into my house :)I also like being able to lock and unlock my door from my house!! I don’t have Alexa or anything so I can’t say how that worksIt is super easier to install too! I’m not a handy person but seemed to be pretty simple to understand the instructions to do it
