The most interesting part, to me: Using the (still beta) Matter integration in Home Assistant, this bulb took less than a minute to set up. It was impressively smooth.I did it all with my Android pocket computer. It was easy: Add new Matter Device, scan QR code on bulb using phone’s camera, and… after a bit of a pause it was right there, ready to do stuff with like anything else in Home Assistant.From there, I was able to “share” the device with Alexa (again, using the Matter integration) so that both systems can talk to it independently, and all without using any cloud services.That said: Last I checked, Home Assistant’s Matter integration doesn’t work on 32-bit installations (which is the default way of running on a Raspberry Pi 3). Regardless of your hardware, make sure you have your ducks in a row and the Matter integration installed before buying.—Now, how does it work as a light bulb? It seems fine. It does the expected RGB tricks. It provides a nicely-variable color temperature for white. I don’t have a way to measure CRI, but color rendering seemed to be just fine. It produces about the same amount of light as other smart bulbs that claim to be 800 lumens.And it’s surprisingly compact — it’s substantially smaller than my first smart bulbs are, and a bit smaller than a TP Link Tapo L530.—Will I buy one again? Maybe, maybe not. I bought this because I needed another smart bulb, and because it provided me with a fairly inexpensive way to get my feet wet with Matter. But since I’m also rather invested in Home Assistant and I like tinkering with things, I prefer buying bulbs that come with ESPHome pre-installed just for their hack value.

Great brightness, and compatibility with Alexa and Home Assistant
These are some of the best smart bulbs I’ve tried so far, and they’re even brighter (at 800 lumens) than some other smart bulb brands I installed that claimed to have higher lumens. I use a combination of Alexa and Home Assistant to control all of my smart devices, and so I am happy when a smart bulb pairs seamlessly with both, as these did.Please note that if you want to use these bulbs with both Alexa and Home Assistant, I found that the following steps worked best for me:1. First make sure the bulb is reset, if needed (flashes red-green-blue when you connect it to the light socket and switch the power on). If the bulb turns on as solid white with no color cycling, you can reset it by switching the power on and off 6 times, with a second in between.2. Connect it FIRST to the Alexa app as a Matter device, using the included Matter QR code for the bulb you are trying to connect. This step is important for the bulb to show up correctly in Home Assistant. You’ll know you have the correct entry in the Alexa app if it mentions a “Leedarson smart device” in the bulb settings.3. After you finish setup in the Alexa app, next connect it to the AiDot app. This step is important for the bulb to receive firmware updates, and there are some extra settings here that aren’t in the Alexa app, such as controlling whether you want the bulb to default to On or Off after you have a power outage.

Highly recommend this bulb if you’re a person that likes color, and easy of automation. This is the perfect bulb for you. There’s a spectrum of colors. Can also dim the colors or brighten them, so it also dims the white light in it as well. Love it and it was easy to install and works very well with Alexa! Great product!! 5 stars from me

I ordered two of the 3 packs from this brand and both of the packs gave me issues with connectivity and responsiveness so I have a hard time believing the 5 star reviews on these. These are clearly the cheapest smart bulbs you can find for a reason, they are dysfunctional.I ordered the “DAYBETTER Smart Light Bulbs, Alexa Light Bulb, WiFi Light Bulbs, RGBCW Color Changing Light Bulb A19 9W 800LM, Smart Bulbs that Work with Alexa & Google Assistant, 2.4Ghz only, No Hub Required,10 Pack” that was $40 after a $20 coupon and not a single one of them has given me a single issue, and at that price they are right in the ballpark of how much these cost per bulb.
