this is a wonderful garlic press. my old cheaper one was lightweight and very hard to maneuver, but this one works very easily with my weakened hands. I love it.!!

Efficient large capacity garlic press
I have a small, old, inexpensive but well-used garlic press that I’ve used since college. It’s been used so much that a couple of the pins have broken off. So when I saw this handsome garlic press set from the Global Digitronix Store I thought I’d give it a try.The press and it’s accessories came indivisually plastic-wrapped inside a nicely illustrated box. Accessories include a small brush and a unique silicone sleave that I subsequently learned is used to peel the skin off of garlic cloves when they are rolled around inside it.The garlic press itself has some heft, weighing 12.25 ounces (7.4 grams). The silicone-lined handles fit my adult male hands well and fascilitate a solid grip. The interior part of the press appears to be brushed stainless steel, whereas the exterior is bright and shiny, giving it a chrome plated appearance. The chamber of the press is larger than my older press, and is capable of holding three large cloves at once (more if cut). The chamber has 33 holes that correspond to the number of blunt steel pins in the handle that press the garlic through them. The holes are a bit larger than those in my older press. Once garlic is pressed, the reverse side of the handle has another set of hard plastic pins that can be used to help clean out the chamber’s holes. This press is easy and efficient to use.I doubt I’ll use the brush accessory to clear garlic from the chamber, but it will come in handy when grinding coffee beans, as static causes the gounds to stick to the doseing cup. Likewise, I’ve tried the silicone sleave to remove garlic skins, but didn’t find it to work well. Perhaps I need to learn the proper technique, but I find smashing the cloves with the side of my chefs knife to be fast and efficient (I don’t mind the smell of garlic on my fingers).Overall I’m quite happy to add this garlic press to my assortment of kitchen gadgets. It will be in my hand often as I prepare tasty and spicy meals. Currently available for $13.00, it is also a good value for the money.

High Powered Garlic Press
Love this garlic press! I used a press like this at a friend’s house who has really nice cookware and kinda chef-y kitchen. I’ve always used a cheap garlic press, and that’s fine for me. I grew up on jarred garlic, which I’m not a fan of, then chopped my own garlic for years, and am all about a garlic press. But this one is next level. The main thing I like about this — other than the style, the rubber grip, how expensive and high quality it feels — is the red side that pushes out what garlic remains in the press after crushing the clove through. Not only is this a time saver for cleaning, but it also helps use all of the garlic. I’m not wasting a gram of garlic, people. And this press allows me to maximize each clove of garlicy goodness. And with that nice big garlic well, you know I’m going extra garlic for all my meals.Please note that it is rather heavy. If you have trouble lifting things, this might not be the one for you.It does come with a tiny little brush and tool to get the garlic skin off. I’m a kitchen minimalist — I only buy single usage kitchen tools if it’s something I’m sure to use pretty frequently. To me, these seem like unnecessary things to have in the kitchen. I usually smack the garlic with a wide knife and the skin peels off pretty easily. The little brush is going in the trash. We’ll see whether the garlic peeler gets any use.In the description it says “handwash safe” but in “see more product details” it says dishwasher safe. I’m all about handwashing a garlic press, don’t get me started on dry, caked-on garlic that did not get washed in the machine. But I’m also unclear whether this is technically dishwasher safe, since it does have that rubber handle.Well worth the $13.
