Anyone with MAC knows they only have 4 USB C ports and this only uses ine to provide extra video, ethernet port, and standard USB ports.

Mac back up and running better in 4 days
This port expander for my M1 Mac Mini connects the USB-A cables for my backup hard drive and video camera+mic to the Mac’s 2nd USB-C port. One of the expander’s USB-C ports powers a desktop magnetic charger plate. The whole expander is powered by a 100 watt charger connected to a second expander USB-C port.No overheating, which is what broke my 5-year-old expander from another manufacturer.
