Good when it works, Stressful when it doesn’t
I really wanted to love these Cync GE Smart Bulbs and when they behave, they’re awesome. The app setup mostly works and is pretty simple, but every now and then one bulb develops an independent personality and refuses to connect. The voice control is fun (when it listens), and the color options definitely set the mood. Still, I didn’t expect to argue with my lighting this often. When everything syncs, it’s great, bright, efficient, and genuinely cool tech. But between the random disconnects and app hiccups, I can only give it a solid “nice try” 3/5. It’s smart… just not as smart as it thinks it is.

Just What I Needed.
Love them. The app is easy to use and provides perfect soft or bright lighting in our living room. Placed one in our hurricane lamp to help illuminate our favorite painting and the soft light flowing up really makes the painting pop. The multi-colors are a nice novelty from time to time, but the soft yellow and ability to dim these bulbs to just the right level depending on our needs is great.

What a fun find! I was looking for a smart bulb to replace one that had finally burnt out. I was unable to find the exact bulb I had purchased years ago, so took a chance on this one not realizing its color benefits. Imagine my delight when I realized I was able to change the bulb to multiple colors just using my voice. It was super simple to install. The app instructions were easy to follow and walked me through each step of the way with no problem. Having a bulb that can change to whatever color I might be feeling at the time just adds a little pop of happiness to my day and to the room! It might sound silly, but I plan to gift these to everyone I know! These are a win!

A nice quality of life upgrade to my home.
I’ve been buying these lightbulbs for various locations when the need comes up. I continue to buy this specific model because I can manage all my GE smart devices from the app. Out of the maybe 12-15 light bulbs I have, one has died. It happened to be one of the first ones I purchased about 4.5 years ago. When it died, I called GE and they replaced it. We love the color changing and ability to easily go back and forth between a color-wheel of sorts, and a warmth/coolness slider in case you don’t want vibrant green lights all the time. I give the bulbs four stars because the app itself could use improvement and can be buggy. Also, sometimes the bulbs will show offline even though they’re not, and if you try to turn it on, off, and back on again, it’ll work. Often there’s a 2-5 second delay from the toggle to the bulb, which is to be expected with bluetooth delay. If you have to factory reset these bulbs, that can also be challenging since you have to correctly turn them off and on in correct timing to do so. Other than those few minor gripes, they do what I need and are a nice quality of life upgrade to my home, and a fun little spice to my game room.

Incredible Product
They can be pretty sensitive when trying to set up with the app and require 2.4 WiFi but have not had issues with them. I love the scheduling and being able to adjust these to different white hues and different colors. I bought 1 initially then another 2. I have one on each side of the bed for my wife and I to use but are also in sync. Great product.The only bummer is that Siri does not work with the Cync app and there’s no way to link them. None of this requires a paid subscription. Lot of reviews from people who clearly struggle with technology.

One of the best smart bulbs in this price range
One of the best multicolor smart bulbs I have used in this price range. I mostly use the whites and the brightness is sufficient. The color mode is significantly less bright than the whites.The mobile app, at least on Android is well made and the setup is super easy. I have multiple of them and I never noticed that one of the bulbs was unable to connect to my WiFi as the other bulbs provide a mesh network for bulbs that are not able to connect to the network for some reason. It just works without the need to fiddle with it. I wish they came with support for 5GHz WiFi. Having to split the network every time for setup is a bit annoying but once it’s done, I just merged the bands back and the bulbs have always worked. I have noticed that the Google Assistant sometimes forgets to operate 1 out of the many bulbs I have, but a quick nudge from the GE app restores the sync.

Works well with google
I almost wrote the setup was easy – but not really. You need to set up in the cinc app then link to google home – but then you can use voice commands from there. It isn’t that bad but requires several steps. Once set up I love the lights. A couple things to note. The white light can be very bright but all colors are not as bright – to my eye I would say 1/3 as bright in maximum. Also, when you do a programmed setting like ‘rainbow’ there is only one brightness – not very bright. I did not find a way to brighten the standard settings like for rainbow. Also. Just to let you know you can use google to change bulb color (no app needed) – you just say hey google change the light to pink – or change the light to rainbow. Works really well – seems reliable (more reliable than earlier GE bulbs I had.)Regardless I am quite happy with the purchase and would purchase again.

Beyond one of the worst apps I have had the misfortune of using…
When I first bought these, I used them with my Alexa so once they were connected I didn’t have any issues. But I recently got rid of my Alexas and switched to using these on their native app. I don’t think I have ever encountered an app so terrible as this one. I will connect everything. It’s all working well. No other tampering with it. And it just decides every morning that it just doesn’t want to work. Every other day it has a red icon for no reason. And the app is so bad that you have a million unnecessary steps that you can’t delete and troubleshooting is out of the question because something is always wrong. But you don’t actually know what. This app was designed by toddlers for sure. I’m getting rid of these lights and finding some better ones. I’ve had off brand Chinese devices that have better app design than this one.

De momento cumple bien su funcion los colores estan suaves, solo me falta ver como puedo hacer par coordinarlos con la musica o las peliculas pero cumplen su funcion.

Si bien cuesta un poco configurarlos con Alexa, vale la pena, llevo casi 3 años con ellos y funcionan al 100. Tienen buena iluminación, no se desconectan y son de excelente calidad.

Tienen un excelente factor costo-beneficio.El hecho de que sean “matter over wifi” ayuda bastante cuando ya se tiene una red mesh en cada, ya que tienen cobertura y no se tequiere de un hub adicional como en los focos zigbee para controlarlo completamente con Alexa.Tienen también muy buena variabilidad en la intensidad, ya que si bajan bastante cuando se ponen al 1%

El brillo es mucho mejor que otros focos que he comprado, la configuración del primer foco fue muy rápida y sin problemas, cuando intenté configurar el segundo foco con la app de CYNC no detectaba mi WiFi, así que tuve que resetear el foco de fábrica y luego ya funcionó… Es compatible con el google home y pude manipularlos desde fuera de mi casa sin problema. Solo una observación, si estás fuera de EEUU la app de CYNC no está disponible para iPhone pero si para Android
